GRANTED ACCESS:
PARLIAMENT AND POLITICS.
A DEBATE WITH PARLIAMENTARY OUTREACH AND YOU.
Wednesday 13 APRIL 2011, 5-7PM
@ Council Chamber, Deptford Town Hall, New Cross Road.
We have organised a debate discussing the Politics of Parliament and its functions.
Our project aims to debate Parliament within the broadest sense of its accessibility as a public institution, a seat for Government, a legislative body, a building, etc. We hope to debate and question its outreach by involving individuals and groups to contribute with ideas and opinions on how to engage and access Parliament and Politics.
All this will inform our exhibition for Portcullis House in mid June.
All this will inform our exhibition for Portcullis House in mid June.
Discussing these issues and more shall be the Parliamentary Outreach team (http://www.parliament.uk/get-involved/outreach-and-training/) as well as a selection of other groups and individuals including students, activist groups, an MP, a previous candidate standing as an Independent MP, international citizens living in London and many more.
Whilst remaining neutral, we will facilitate and observe this informal debate.
We hope that people that attend will see this debate as a great opportunity to share their experiences of accessing Parliament and Politics as well just sharing ideas and opinions on how Parliament functions in society as a whole.
